Upcoming Events
2026 AI & Health Symposium
The symposium will bring together the University of Michigan community for a day of conversation, collaboration, and learning at the intersection of AI and health.
2026 MGI Annual Symposium
Registration is now open for the 2026 MGI Annual Symposium!
Presented by AI & Digital Health Innovation, the Michigan Genomics Initiative (MGI) Annual Symposium is an opportunity for faculty, researchers and students with interest in genomics, genetics to gather, learn from each other, connect, and getting plugged in to all the resources we have to offer!
The symposium will be held on September 18, 2026 from 10 AM to 3 PM at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, SPH 1 Room 1755.
Keynote Speaker
We are pleased to announce that Bogdan Pasaniuc, PhD, Professor of Genetics and Director of the Center for Computational Biomedicine at the University of Pennsylvania, will deliver this year's keynote address.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Francis S. Collins, MD, PhD, is no longer able to join us as this year's keynote speaker.
About Dr. Pasaniuc
Dr. Pasaniuc leads the Computational Genomics for Precision Health research group within the Department of Genetics and the Institute for Biomedical Informatics. The group develops statistical and computational methods to understand the genetic basis of disease, focusing on underrepresented populations, integrative genomics, and biobank studies.
Dr. Pasaniuc is interested in innovative ML/AI methods to integrate genetics with multi-omic profiles (e.g., epigenetic/transcriptomic) and electronic health records to identify causal genes and pathways for human diseases. Dr. Pasaniuc introduced transcriptome-wide association studies (TWAS) using predicted gene expression as a principled approach to identify disease genes for many traits, such as schizophrenia, ovarian cancer, and prostate cancer.
His main research interest is in precision health, using genomics to predict health outcomes, stratify patients based on their genetic profiles, identify undiagnosed rare diseases, and translate computational algorithms to the clinic.
Deidentified Clinical Reports and Notes Virtual Workshop
Presented by AI&DHI, this is an opportunity for faculty, researchers and students with interest in deidentified clinical reports and notes. This event will highlight the new data available and provide a demo of how to find and extract the data for analysis based on selected use cases.
Michigan Genomics Initiative (MGI) Data and Access Workshop
The third session of our AI&DHI Research Data Talks, "Michigan Genomics Initiative (MGI) Data & Access Workshop," is geared toward faculty, researchers and students who have an interest in genomic data through the Michigan Genomics Initiative (MGI). This event will highlight the data that is available and how to access it and will also serve as an open forum for questions and discussion.
The Future of Health AI
On March 17, join industry and startup leaders at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business as they break down how artificial intelligence is transforming healthcare now and where it’s headed next.
AI&DHI and e-HAIL will be featured as part of this event’s showcase of U-M health AI startups!
CMS/EHR Data
Hosted by AI & Digital Health Innovation (AI&DHI), the AI&DHI Research Data Talks series introduces the U-M research community to the powerful resources available through our Data Platform.
