AI&DHI sits at the intersection of data, AI, and biomedical science across campus — enabling interdisciplinary science research that wouldn't otherwise be possible. We bring the biological and clinical expertise, plus the infrastructure for cutting-edge tool and model validation for researchers across campus. We also take proven innovations into real clinical settings, adapt them, and feed successes back to the community at scale.
While others sustain what’s proven, we enable what’s next — incubating with emerging data and new AI methods, validating in the clinic, and translating to the enterprise.

How We Enable the Researcher Journey
Researchers move through three stages. AI&DHI has a role in each one.
1. Incubate
Researchers develop new AI models and methods using data types that weren’t previously available to them.
AI&DHI finds and acquires novel data and builds tools to make the data accessible so researchers can stay focused on the science.
2. Validate
Researchers test & prove their tools in real clinical settings, de-risking what works before the enterprise commits to scale.
AI&DHI provides the platform (PRISM) and tools to deploy research that makes validation possible.
3. Translate
Proven innovations move to the broader research and clinical enterprise, where they scale and take root.
AI&DHI facilitates the handoff then steps back as clinical operations takes ownership.
Our Mission
We connect researchers to the novel digital health data and advanced methods they need to understand human health, uncover opportunities to advance it, and improve patient care.
We support researchers investigating scientific hypotheses using AI, genetic and digital health data, as well as those developing, validating, piloting, and translating AI models and tools into clinical and research systems.
Our Vision
