Differences in and variability of longitudinal step count by age, sex, & COVID-19 metrics

Overview

The project is a a secondary analysis of the Michigan Predictive Ability and Clinical Trajectories (MIPACT) study. Quantify Apple watch wear patterns/step count, examine the extent to which the COVID-19 pandemic (stay at home orders, infection, and severity) impacted average recorded step counts, examine the associations between step count average and variability over time with incident T2D and HT.

Digital Health Innovation Support

Digital Health Innovation is storing wearable data from the MIPACT study and related EHR data on a private AWS environment. The Data Solutions team facilitated - in partnership with ARC - the set up of the environment and one of the Data Solution Managers is pulling the data to support the research study.
