Genetic Variation And The Natural History Of Chronic Liver Disease

Overview

This research study aims to characterize the effects of common and rare genetic variants that influence the progression of liver disease and cardiometabolic disease. Additionally, it aims to examine the interactions between genetic variants, comorbidities, and medications, and their combined effects on disease progression researcher used DataDirect to identify patients with underlying liver disease in the MGI cohort, extracted detailed phenotypic data with manual chart review, and determined how genetic variation alters clinically-relevant outcomes such as development of cirrhosis, decompensated liver disease, liver cancer, and cardiovascular disease.
