Differences In And Variability Of Longitudinal Step Count By Age Sex And Covid-19 Metrics

Overview

This study explores smartwatch wear and step count patterns, and the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on these metrics across the three-year period of the MIPACT study. The long-term goal of this research study is to examine step count and other smartwatch metrics as predictors of incident cardio-metabolic diseases.

The work the investigator is doing by analyzing and studying data and associations in the MIPACT wearables and EHR data hosted in a DHI-funded AWS environment is expected to generate strong pilot data needed for a competitive K01 application (projected June 2025 submission).
